Marsh Orchid or Spotted Orchid are a great plant for
the woodland setting, or shade garden that has rich, damp soil and some shade. They
have a stiff stout stem topped by a spike with many birdlike flowers up to eighty on each
stem. Soil must be deep, rich, and damp with some peat. Generous dressings of
a well rotted compost will encourage the plants to spread. The color will vary
in shades from violet to purple, with green leaves that can have some chocolate or
purple spots on them.This is a hard plant to find in the USA so drop me a note and I can
get one out to you. Zone 9-7 |
